Teach with GROW

We’re looking for educators who believe that kids deserve to be truly known — not just managed — and that learning comes alive when it’s rooted in nature, community, and genuine curiosity.

The role

What you’ll actually be doing

GROW is a secular, nature-rooted homeschool cooperative in Boca Raton, FL. We run small cohorts of 6–12 students across three age bands (Maples K–2, Palms 3–5, and Oaks 6–8) with an 8:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Every screen is off. Every lesson is hands-on. And every child is known by name — really known.

As a GROW educator, you’ll co-teach and lead lessons within our established curriculum frameworks while bringing your own energy, creativity, and expertise into the room. You’ll work closely with other teachers and with parents, who are active participants in our cooperative model.

Day-to-day, you’ll be…

  • Facilitating core curriculum: IEW writing, Mammoth Math, eco-education, and our Money Matters financial literacy program
  • Leading and co-leading Thursday Enrichment sessions (science & art for K–2, modern history and MMUN for 3–8)
  • Designing and running Eco Venture projects — family-led, 11-week environmental action challenges
  • Building authentic relationships with students across your cohort, tracking their growth holistically
  • Collaborating with co-teachers and parent volunteers to plan, adapt, and debrief each week
  • Participating in field experiences, outdoor learning sessions, and community events
  • Mentoring students through the Education Rocks program, where kids fundraise to sponsor a child's school year in Bali

You don’t need to be a certified teacher. We value lived experience, subject-matter depth, warmth, and genuine alignment with our values over formal credentials — though we welcome those too.

Values

What we’re looking for

Skills can be taught. These qualities are what make someone a great fit for GROW.

🌱

Genuine love for children

You see each child as a whole person — not a test score or a behavior problem. You notice the quiet ones and celebrate the loud ones.

🌿

Connection to nature

You believe the outdoors is a classroom. You're comfortable getting muddy, watching bugs, and letting curiosity lead the way outside.

📵

Screen-free conviction

You embrace learning without screens because you've seen what happens when kids build, create, and explore with their hands and minds.

🤝

Collaborative spirit

Our co-op model means parents are partners, not spectators. You welcome their involvement and thrive in community-led spaces.

🔍

Curiosity-led teaching

You know how to follow a child's question into a full lesson. You don't just teach a curriculum — you teach a child.

💛

Inclusive heart

GROW is secular, diverse, and radically welcoming. You believe every family deserves to belong and every child deserves to be known.

“The past 11 weeks have been completely soul-filling.”

— A GROW teacher

This is the kind of teaching environment where your work actually matters. Small classes, engaged families, a community that holds each other up — and kids who leave every day excited about what comes next.
